Career & Technical Education

What is CTE?

Career and Technical Education at Centerville Jr. High provides our students with knowledge and skills in many different content areas.  Courses combine the academic knowledge and technical skills that are vital for entry into the careers of the 21st century.  In grades 9th through 12th, skills gained are verified through CTE State Skill Certificate tests and/or industry tests in each course.

Many CTE courses in high school also offer concurrent enrollment college credit.  Career pathways in CTE also help students to seamlessly transition from high school to college to careers and life.

Students enrolled in Career & Technical Education courses are encouraged to participate in the student organization that relates to their area of career interest. The Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) student organization is offered at Centerville Jr. High. The student organizations offered at Viewmont High School are FBLA, DECA, FCCLA, HOSA, TSA.
