A Little About Us
Centerville Junior High School, affectionately known as CJH, has been a hub of learning and community in Centerville, Utah. Here are some interesting tidbits about this educational institution:
Founding and Early Years:
CJH traces its roots back to the late 19th century. The first class graduated from Centerville High School (which eventually evolved into CJH) in 1890.
Imagine those early students—probably sporting suspenders and ink-stained fingers—making their way through the halls, eager to learn and grow.
Growth and Changes:
In 1955, significant changes occurred. The Central Unit of what is now Cline Elementary School opened, and both junior high and the three-year high school moved there.
It’s fascinating to think about how the campus evolved over time, adapting to the needs of the community and the educational landscape.
Present Day:
Today, CJH serves students in grades seven through nine. It’s a place where young minds explore, friendships blossom, and the foundations for lifelong learning are laid.
The school offers memberships to a range of clubs and organizations, fostering a sense of belonging and encouraging students to pursue their passions.
Community Spirit:
CJH isn’t just about textbooks and classrooms; it’s about the Charger spirit! Whether it’s cheering at a basketball game, participating in a science fair, or creating art, students and staff come together to make CJH a vibrant place.
Remember, history isn’t just about dates and facts—it’s about the people who walked those hallways, the teachers who inspired, and the countless stories that unfolded within those walls. So, whether you’re a Charger alum or simply curious, know that Centerville Junior High has left its mark on generations of learners! 🎒📝
